James is an executive director in the Market Strategy team of Strategic Advisory Solutions. He is head of the international market strategy team, with responsibility for providing actionable macro-economic ideas and perspectives on the latest international market developments. Prior to joining the firm, James was Chief European Economist at RBC Capital Markets, where he provided detailed coverage of economic developments across the euro area and UK. For more than a decade, James worked as an economist in London and New York, analyzing and forecasting key macroeconomic, political and financial themes shaping the global economy. Prior to that, he spent five years working on policy at the Bank of England. James earned a B.A. in Economics from Durham University, and an M.Sc. in Economics from University College London.
